Moses and the Burning Bush – Book 9

Moses was a kind and hardworking shepherd who lived in the land of Midian. Every day, he led his sheep across the sandy hills and green valleys, making sure they were safe and well fed. Moses loved the quiet of nature, where he could listen to the birds sing and feel the gentle wind on his face.
One sunny morning, Moses was guiding his sheep near a mountain when something amazing caught his eye.
In the distance, a small bush was glowing with bright flames. The fire danced and sparkled — but the bush was not burning away.
Moses blinked in surprise.
“I must go closer and see this wonderful sight,” he said.
As Moses stepped near the bush, a gentle and powerful voice called out, “Moses, Moses!”
Moses stopped and answered softly, “Here I am.”
The voice said, “Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I am the God of your fathers — the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Moses felt his heart beat fast with awe and respect. He covered his face, knowing he was in God’s presence.
Then God spoke with great love.
“I have seen the suffering of My people in Egypt,” God said. “I have heard their cries, and I have come to rescue them. I will send you, Moses, to bring My people out of slavery.”
Moses felt afraid.
“But God,” he said, “I am not a great speaker. What if the people do not listen to me?”
God gently replied, “I will be with you every step of the way. I am the One who will help you.”
God even gave Moses a special sign — when he returned to this very mountain with the people, they would worship God together.
Moses listened carefully and began to understand that God had chosen him for a very important mission.
Though Moses was nervous, he trusted God.
“I will go,” Moses said bravely.
The flames continued to glow brightly, reminding Moses that God’s power was strong — and His love never faded.
From that day on, Moses knew he was never alone. God would guide him, protect him, and give him courage.
And with God’s help, Moses would soon lead the Israelites to freedom.
