Joseph and the Colorful Coat – Book 8

Long ago, there lived a kind and gentle boy named Joseph. He loved God with all his heart and always tried to do what was right. Joseph lived with his father and his many brothers, who worked hard taking care of sheep in the fields.
Joseph’s father loved all his sons, but Joseph held a special place in his heart. One day, his father gave Joseph a beautiful gift — a coat made of many bright colors. It was the most wonderful coat Joseph had ever seen. Red, blue, yellow, and green shone brightly in the sunlight.
Joseph was very thankful and wore the coat proudly.
But when his brothers saw the colorful coat, they felt jealous.
“Why does Joseph get something so special?” they whispered to each other.
Their happy hearts slowly turned into angry ones.
One night, Joseph had a dream. In his dream, bundles of grain in the field bowed down to his bundle. Joseph was excited and shared the dream with his brothers.
But instead of being happy for him, his brothers became even more upset.
“Do you think you will rule over us someday?” they said angrily.
Another day, Joseph’s father asked him to go check on his brothers who were working far away in the fields. Joseph gladly went, wearing his colorful coat.
When his brothers saw him coming, their jealousy grew stronger.
“Here comes Joseph in his fancy coat,” they said.
And they made a terrible plan.
They grabbed Joseph, took away his beautiful coat, and sold him to travelers who were going to a faraway land called Egypt.
Joseph was scared and sad, but God was with him.
In Egypt, Joseph worked very hard and always tried to do what was right. God blessed Joseph, and soon people noticed how kind and wise he was. Even when life was difficult, Joseph trusted God and never gave up hope.
Years passed, and God lifted Joseph to an important position where he helped many people. When a great famine came, Joseph made sure there was enough food saved so families would not go hungry.
One day, Joseph’s brothers traveled to Egypt looking for food. They did not recognize Joseph, but Joseph recognized them right away.
His heart filled with many feelings.
Instead of being angry, Joseph remembered God’s love.
Joseph gently said, “I am your brother. Do not be afraid. God used this to bring good.”
The brothers were shocked and filled with tears.
“I forgive you,” Joseph said kindly, hugging them.
The family was brought back together, and their hearts were filled with joy.
God had turned something sad into something wonderful.
