Jacob’s Dream of the Ladder – Book 6

Long ago, in the land of Canaan, there lived a young man named Jacob. Jacob was the son of Isaac and Rebekah and the grandson of Abraham.
Jacob had a twin brother named Esau. One day, after a misunderstanding between the brothers, Jacob had to leave home and travel far away.
Jacob felt lonely and worried as he walked across the hills and deserts. He was going to stay with his uncle in a distant land. The journey was long, and Jacob did not know what would happen next.
One evening, as the sun began to set, Jacob stopped to rest for the night.
There were no houses nearby, only open land and quiet hills. Jacob found a smooth stone and used it as a pillow. Then he lay down and looked up at the starry sky.
Soon, Jacob fell asleep.
While he was sleeping, Jacob had a wonderful dream.
In his dream, he saw something amazing.
A tall ladder reached from the ground all the way up to heaven!
Angels were going up and down the ladder. They moved between heaven and earth, carrying out God’s work.
At the top of the ladder stood the Lord.
God spoke to Jacob and said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham and your father Isaac. The land where you are lying will belong to you and your family.”
God continued speaking kindly to Jacob.
“Your family will grow and spread across the earth. And through your family, many people in the world will be blessed.”
Then God gave Jacob a wonderful promise.
“I am with you. I will watch over you wherever you go. One day I will bring you safely back to this land.”
Jacob listened carefully in his dream.
Even though he was far from home and feeling afraid, God was telling him that he was not alone.
God was watching over him.
Soon Jacob woke up from his dream.
He looked around at the quiet hills and said with wonder, “God is in this place, and I did not even know it!”
Jacob felt peaceful and thankful.
Early the next morning, Jacob took the stone he had used as a pillow and set it up as a special reminder. He poured oil on the stone and prayed to God.
Jacob named that place Bethel, which means “House of God.”
Jacob promised that he would remember God’s promise and trust Him wherever he went.
Jacob continued his journey with a brave heart, knowing that God was always with him.
And from Jacob’s family came many people who followed God and shared His blessings with the world.
