Long ago, God created a beautiful world filled with bright blue skies, tall mountains, flowing rivers, and colorful flowers. At the very center of this wonderful world was a special place called the Garden of Eden. The garden was full of delicious fruits, soft green grass, singing birds, and peaceful animals. It was the most beautiful place anyone could imagine. God made the first man and named him Adam. Adam lived in the garden and took care of all the plants and animals. He gave names to the animals — the lions, elephants, birds, and tiny insects too. Adam loved the garden, but sometimes he felt lonely. So God made a companion for Adam — a woman named Eve. Adam and Eve were happy together. They walked through the garden, talked with God, and cared for everything He had made. God told Adam and Eve they could enjoy all the fruits in the garden except one tree — the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. “You may eat from every tree,” God said kindly, “but do not eat from that one tree in the middle of the garden.” Adam and Eve promised to obey God. For a long time, they lived joyfully. They played with the animals, rested under shady trees, and thanked God for the beautiful world around them. One day, a sneaky serpent came to Eve while she was near the special tree. “Did God really say you can’t eat this fruit?” the serpent asked softly. Eve replied, “God said we must not eat it or we will be in trouble.” The serpent smiled cleverly. “You won’t get in trouble. If you eat it, you’ll become very wise — just like God.” Eve looked at the fruit. It was bright and beautiful. It seemed harmless. She picked it and took a bite. Then she gave some to Adam, and he ate it too. Suddenly, Adam and Eve felt something strange inside their hearts. They realized they had disobeyed God. They felt ashamed and afraid. When God came walking in the garden, Adam and Eve hid among the trees. “Adam, where are you?” God called gently. Adam answered, “I was afraid, so I hid.” God knew what had happened. Adam and Eve admitted they had eaten the fruit from the tree God told them not to touch. God was sad because He loved them and wanted them to obey Him. Disobedience brings sadness, but God is always loving and kind. Because of their choice, Adam and Eve could no longer stay in the Garden of Eden. God sent them out into the world — but He did not leave them without hope. He still loved them and promised to take care of them. As they left the garden, Adam and Eve held each other’s hands. Though life would now be harder, they knew God was still with them. And from that day on, people learned an important lesson: Obeying God brings joy and peace, but disobedience brings trouble. Yet no matter what, God’s love always remains.
